TESTING SCHEDULE
Annual Testing Schedule
September - NWEA MAP Testing (all grades) – this is a local test used by NLCS to assess baseline data in reading and math at the beginning of the school year.
October (DATE TBD) ASVAB (grades 10-12 only) – this is a national assessment offered to students in grades 10-12 to meet Minnesota state graduation requirements. NLCS coordinates with a local military recruiting office to offer this assessment.
January - NWEA MAP Testing (all grades) – this is a local test used by NLCS to assess growth levels in reading and math at the mid-year point.
March - MCA/MTAS Testing (Reading – grades 6, 7,8, 10; Math – grades 6, 7, 8, 11; Science – grades 8 and 11) – these are state tests used by the state of Minnesota to determine annual student achievement.
May - NWEA MAP Testing (all grades) – this is a local test used by NLCS to assess growth levels in reading and math over the course of the school year.
The ACT, SAT and Accuplacer tests are common college entrance exams. These college entrance exams are offered locally throughout the school year. NLCS coordinates with Itasca Community College to offer these tests to 11th and 12th grade students before they graduate.
The US Military coordinates the ASVAB for their own recruiting purposes.
Itasca Community College is an official site for ACT testing. ACT tests take place on various Saturdays throughout the academic year. To register for the test, contact ACT directly at www.act.org.

The Accuplacer test is also offered by Itasca Community College on a regular basis throughout the year.
